Lisa Hamer BA Hons, MInstLM is our Deputy Chief Executive. She started working for Citizens Advice Torfaen in 2012 and has worked in various roles within the organisation from Specialist Welfare Benefits Adviser to Operations Manager. She has been part of the Senior Management Team since 2018.
Lisa has extensive experience in operational management, staff development and funding applications.
Lisa is passionate in ensuring high quality and accessible advice. Lisa is the strategic lead on our Research and Campaigns work and also leads on our Quality work.

Cynthia has worked for Citizens Advice Torfaen since April 2008 as Finance Officer. Before her employment with Citizens Advice she ran a Post Office in Cwmbran and previous to that worked in industry specialising in Management Accounts and PAYE.

Sarah has 9 years experience within the consumer service.
Over 20 years experience in customer service and financial sectors. Sarah has had a pivotal role working with National Citizens Advice to develop National Training resources and on various service improvement projects.

Lewis is our Volunteer Coordinator & Advice Session Supervisor at Torfaen Citizens Advice.
Lewis has over 15 years experience in customer service. Lewis has been involved with Citizens Advice since 2014 and is experienced in several departments within the organisation, specialising in benefits and consumer law.
Lewis has completed his advice and guidance (level 4) and is currently working towards his leadership and management (level 3).
Lewis takes great pride in leading the volunteers who support our drop-in service and building excellent rapport with stakeholders through our community engagement.
Marie
Claim What’s Yours Team Leader
Marie
Marie has worked for Citizens Advice Torfaen since July 2017. She has worked as part of the Consumer Service, Help to Claim face to face and telephony services, Debt team and more recently as Team Leader for the Claim What’s Yours and Generalist Remote Services. Marie has completed her Advice and Guidance Level 4 qualification and Level 3 in Leadership and Management. Marie is also a Mental Health First Aider and Mental Health First Aid Trainer for MHFA Wales.

Shannon has worked for Citizens Advice Torfaen for 6 years and started her journey as a volunteer in 2016. Since starting her journey with Citizens Advice Torfaen Shannon has gained experience as an Energy Adviser and a Benefits Caseworker. Shannon has been a Team Leader since January 2021 for the Generalist Benefits Team where she developed a great passion for progressing others and supporting people to achieve their full potential. Shannon has since completed a Level 3 in Leadership and Management and is progressing to complete a Level 4. Shannon is also a Mental Health First Aider and is a Mental Health First Aid Trainer for MHFA Wales.

Gareth Malson CeMAP has worked for Citizens Advice as a debt specialist since June 2022 and became a team leader in early 2023.
Gareth has worked in the Debt, Finance and Claims Management sector for over 18 years and alongside the largest debt advice and financial service providers in the UK. Gareth is also a qualified mortgage advisor.

Specialist Benefits Team Leader
Lesley
Lesley has been an employee of Torfaen Citizens Advice since 2004.Started CA life as a volunteer 6 months prior to this.
Her employment started as a part time admin assistance to the Ticket to Health project. She completed the adviser training and took over the role as the Caseworker.
She has covered a number of different roles and has been a part of the benefits team for over 16 years. She has been seconded to Social Services for over 14 years providing benefits advice to Care Leavers and their families.
She continues to work as a benefit Caseworker while being Team Leader for the Specialist Benefit Team.
