Julie contacted Claim What's Yours line seeking advice regarding savings and benefits.

Julie suffers with mental health issues and was distraught on the call as she was worried that she was doing something wrong and disclosed that she had been feeling suicidal due to the worry.  Julie was in receipt of contribution based ESA and had over £16,000 in savings and was concerned after reading some information online, that she wasn’t entitled to benefits due to her savings. We were able to reassure her that, unlike means tested benefits there is no savings limit for contribution based benefits.

We built a good rapport with Julie and to further reassure her we sent the  information in an email and letter so that she could refer back to this.  Julie was very grateful for this. We supported Julie to make contact with her health care provider and continued on the call to ensure Julie was in no imminent danger.

Julie got back to us…Bless you … You are one of this world’s Good People.
